From the mouths of babes...

A school age child and an almost kindergartener were swinging together, and the older one was explaining the water cycle.  The conversation went on for at least 10 minutes, and I was only able to catch snippets of it.  Here's what I have:

M: The rain stays up in the air so you can breathe oxygen.  Water in the tree will evaporate through it.
J: When you're in outer space, it can rain in outer space.
M: And it goes on the planets, and is ice and then it rains down - those rain drops are BIG raindrops.
If there was a fire, all the water they put on the fire evaporates up in the air...
J: Yes, then when a meteor comes down, it gets all the rain, and that's why we have to keep the meteors in outer space.
M: And it's like 100 000 degrees, so they'll be 100% on fire!
J: And my mom and dad were in their house, and a meteor cracked the roof, and the alarm sounded and said, "Get out!"  And for some reason, we got a new house, but the alarm battery was dead or something, so it kept beeping and going off.
